Grit in the Arena: An Interview with Amberley Snyder
Amberley Snyder’s story is one of courage, determination, and an unwavering love for horses. A professional rodeo athlete and accomplished barrel racer, Amberley has overcome extraordinary challenges on her journey. After a life-changing accident in 2010 left her paralyzed from the waist down, she refused to let that define her future. Instead, she adapted, kept riding, and continued to compete at the highest levels of rodeo. Beyond the arena, Amberley has become a powerful motivational speaker, inspiring countless people with her story of perseverance. In this interview, she shares what sparked her lifelong love of horses, her proudest accomplishments, and her advice for those just starting their own equestrian journey.
1. What about horses captured your heart and made you fall in love with them?
I believe if you are a true horse girl, it is in your blood. They make your soul and heart happy. That is how it is for me.
2. In your experience, what’s the most fulfilling moment or accomplishment you’ve had while working with horses?
Making Wilderness Circuit Finals 2021 and 2022.
3. For someone just starting their journey with horses, what’s the first piece of advice you would give them to ensure a successful and enjoyable experience?
Dont take them for granted.
